SALTAIRE AA: The next canal match is on Sunday, August 1. To book on call Richard on 07815-092966. There have been several good catches of perch, roach and smaller carp at Tong Park Dam. Four anglers caught in excess of 12 fish each in three-hour sessions on Tuesday. The lock was recently attacked with glue but has been replaced. The code is unchanged and is available on the website and by phone from the general secretary. Contact details are in your yearbook. Any further incidents should be reported immediately to the general secretary.

Notes

  • The software used to view the lock code ONLINE has been re-designed, re-implemented and tested.
  • It is less-verbose and has better logic.
  • It is used by the above link.

Tips

  1. You do need to store your current yearbook number in your user profile. You also need to be logged in to successfully view the Lock Code.
  2. You will have to input data via Tong Park registration or Lonk House Lane authorisation forms.
  3. You may have to input data via Yearbook data entry1: Centre Page form.

The next match is on the canal on Sunday 18th July to book contact Richard on 07815-092966. Members are reminded that the lock code for Tong Park Dam changed on June 17 and can be obtained from the website or the general secretary, contact details in your yearbook. Litter, bait tins, drinks cans and used line are still being left on the banks, these must be taken home.

River levels – River Aire

There are river level gauges at Baildon Bridge weir and Salts Mill weir. Both are sited on the right bank about 15 metres above each weir. In daylight the gauge at Baildon Bridge is easily visible from the bridge. The gauge at Salts Mill is less visible and is best seen from the left bank just above the weir.

It would be appreciated if members could note the height of the river when they are passing the gauges and report the height, particularly in the days leading up to river matches. These gauges are not automatic and are not used in the Environment Agency predictions of flooding. However the gauge upstream at Kildwick is automatic and is used in predicting floods.

Anyone can add a report as a comment in the forum.

A replacement lock with a changed code was fitted to the gate at Tong Park on June 17. This is available to registered users on the website or by phone. Contact details in your yearbook.

Both sweetcorn and luncheon meat tins with no sign whatsoever of rust have been retrieved from the banks of the river, canal and lake within the last week. Anyone seen discarding these items will be banned from the club. There is a committee meeting on Monday at 7.30pm..

The first day of the coarse fish river season saw chub and trout being caught but small baits, such as maggots and casters, were rapidly taken by minnows. A handful of anglers without club memberships were seen and directed to tackle shops for more impartial advice. For up to date information about the lock and gate situation at Tong Park, please see the website.

Match for the U18s, U14s, U8s West Yorks Police/Wakefield AC

Saturday 7th August will see the ever-popular match run by West Yorkshire Police for Under 18s, on the Calder and Hebble Wakefield/Horbury Wakefield AC water.

Application form can be obtained by emailing U18sfishingmatch@aol.com

or by phone on 0795 808 3224. We require your full name and postal address including postcode and a contact number and your date of birth.

Application forms and copy of the rules will be sent out week commencing the 21st June, those who fished last year’s match an application form will be sent out to you automatically as long as you are still under 18 on the day of the match.

Sections are U18’s, U15’s, and one section for under 8′s.

Under 14s must have an adult with them at all times. In addition, all applicants must have parental or guardians consent to take part.
